Remember the days when you could be working on something on the computer and somehow due to the forces of Murphy’s Law you would lose that file? You’d have to go back to the last saved version, or worse start over.

Dropbox. Always In Sync and In Style

There is a lot of product information, including product catalogs, that needs to be disbursed to our outside team. Some of the team logs serious highway miles, others in urban areas may use the subway while visiting clients, and yet a third group is on a plane at any given time. Specifically before a trade show, the latest product information would be printed and sent along in boxes with the physical samples.

Poorly planned meetings or conference calls take up valuable time and energy rather than giving needed clarity. With dozens of impromptu phone calls and meetings during any 24 hour period, there’s no bigger time waster than the ill conceived meeting*.

Toodledo First Impressions

by Yaphet Smallwood

Posted on August 04, 2014

Hands down, Toodledo is one of the most comprehensive, feature rich, task management apps that I’ve come across in my search. I can honestly recommend this app to anyone that is looking for a task manager that just about does it all. Unfortunately, its one of the more aesthetically unpleasing apps to look at and work in. You send out dozens if not hundreds of emails a day, how do you keep track of who’s replied and who hasn’t? What if there’s a request sitting in your inbox, but you’re not ready to act on it now? Are you waiting on further information from someone else, maybe you need to complete a task first before you can respond?

Effective Use Of The Subject Line In Emails

by Yaphet Smallwood

Posted on March 03, 2014

I recently had someone tell me to put all the information they requested into one email. Usually this is a good idea with the exception that there was a ton of information that needed to be relayed in this communication, complete with supporting documents. This made completion of the subject line fairly difficult if there was ever a need to go back and search for something specific in the communication. It also makes written discussion about any of the internal points a challenge, assuming people just hit reply without altering the subject line.

by Yaphet Smallwood

Instead of having contact information on strips of paper, in various notebooks, post-its, or the like, keeping appropriate records in one place is key to speed and just generally having your “stuff” together.
